Atrium Medical Center is a 279-bed hospital in Warren County, just west of Middletown, Ohio. Atrium offers family-centered care and advanced technology supporting a full range of services including cardiac care, sports medicine and physical therapy, a multidisciplinary cancer program and a wide array of women's services. Atrium Medical Center is one of four hospitals serving 23 communities in southwestern Ohio.
The Department of Nursing within Atrium Medical Center was chosen as a pilot location to work to improve the organization's strategy execution efforts. This 700-person team strives to achieve its mission "to make a difference in the lives we touch everyday".
Lisa Gossett, Chief Nursing Officer, said:
"The Six Disciplines process has given us a structure to truly focus our limited resources on the key issues in the organization. Before we engaged Six Disciplines, we were faced with an endless array of "urgent" activities and now we have a structure to help us better prioritize so we can focus on the most "important" ones."
